Creating good compost is a great way of growing more flowers and increasing bee numbers in your garden

We have been looking at how to increase levels of bees in our gardens and have decided that one of the best ways to do that is to grow great flowers with excellent compost. Now you can just stack up your waste in a bin in your garden but there are ways of making this matter compost more quickly and making sure you add a good combination and not curtain things is key to this. It's not rocket science but there are some great things you can do to increase the quailty of the compost and therefore the flowers you grow will be bigger, last longer and more Bees will come.

A great site to find out about this is www.acompostbin.com. It's easy to read and full of useful tips.

  1. This post made me think of a time when my wife was stirring our compost bin and there was a bee hiding nearby. The bee flew right up her pant legs and stung her on the leg. She came running inside and ripped off her pants. It was pretty funny.

This is a slightly different story about bees and compost though. :)
